The fall softball season has begun. As a proud softball dad, I took my camera out to the fields for game 1. This was only my second time shooting with the Fujifilm XF 100-400mm lens and it sure delivered. I was very happy with the versatility and results of this lens shooting sports. Combined with the X-T2 and battery grip it made for a relatively big (for Fuji) but very manageable rig. Last season I used the 55-200, 50-140, and 1.4x tc. The new big zoom allowed me to get a lot closer to the action and reach more players from wherever I could get a view over or through the fence.
The performance of the X-T2 AF-C modes and speed in continuous high shooting continue to impress me. I am still trying to get the hang of finding/framing/anticipating the shot at 250+mm.
